Heston Primary School - Where learning is a preparation for life...

Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to Heston Primary School!

Heston Primary School was opened in 2011 and has amazing facilities including extensive grounds. Our children benefit immensely from the positive support of our parents and the wider community. We benefit from a supportive Governing Body which assists in the governance of the school.

Our school is a great place to learn, achieve and flourish. It provides a happy, safe and supportive environment, where everyone feels valued. We are committed to help every child excel and reach their potential academically and in extracurricular activities. Furthermore, we aim to instil a strong moral compass, enabling them to act ethically and honourably.  At Heston we believe learning is a preparation for life.

Our curriculum at Heston is rich and stimulating, and encompasses the needs of our vibrant and multicultural community. We offer a broad range of exciting and meaningful experiences and opportunities to enthuse and inspire our pupils. Everyone at Heston has a relentless focus on helping children succeed and have high aspirations. Pupil wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do.

According to our November 2023 Ofsted inspection report,

"The school’s curriculum is ambitious. Pupils study a broad range of subjects, in line with the national curriculum. The school decides the important subject content they want pupils to know. Leaders sequence this knowledge effectively so that it builds cumulatively from the early years onwards. Subject leaders work closely with teaching staff to ensure the curriculum is implemented securely. The school collaborates with external professionals, therapists and parents. This ensures that pupils with SEND receive effective help to learn the same curriculum as their peers..."Pupils regularly recall content, concepts and ideas that they have learned previously. As a result, typically, pupils connect knowledge together, which helps them to know more and remember more." "

The Ofsted inspectors also commented that pupils love reading, behave responsibly, are focused and attentive in lessons and are considerate towards others at our school.

Heston Primary School has high expectations for pupil achievement and places high importance on safeguarding pupils' well being and ensuing that pupils are happy and secure and enjoy learning!

If you have any suggestions, comments or questions, please contact us. You are most welcome to visit and see our school for yourself.

  • Hounslow’s Promise –Connecting Kids at Home project

The Hounslow’s Promise local education charity is working with local schools to help provide computers or laptops to local school pupils who are having to study at home but don’t have access to a computer or the internet. It is also supported by the London Borough of Hounslow and Hounslow Chamber of Commerce.

If you have a spare older PC or laptop which you no longer use, and would be willing to donate to children in Hounslow, please email info@hounslowspromise.org with your name, contact details and a brief description of the computer available.

These would be cleaned down to factory reset, and then allocated to schools to reimage and roll out to their students based on need.

Currently, the Government are prioritising Secondary schools, but the hope is the project will have capacity in the coming weeks to respond to Primary needs too.

More information about this scheme is available at http://www.hounslowspromise.org/connectingkidshome.html
